A really beautiful gardens in Boone, North Carolina with a nice collection of local plants, I visited last month and during my visit spoke with one of the people working there about some of the native plants and a few types of beetles, they deserve a 5 star rating for sure!

We decided to visit on a rainy afternoon. We were the only people there so we really got to spend some time looking around. The setting and buildings are really beautiful. The problem is so much of the gardens have not been kept up and now require alot of maintenance to get them back in shape. Weeding, mulching, clean-up even poison ivy. We left a donation and I know everyone is short staffed in Boone, so we are crossing our fingers they get some help or volunteers.

It’s just ok. Nice 30 minute visit. There are other nicer things to see in Boone.

Yes! They start to bloom near the beginning of August/end of July!
I don't believe they have a purple rose bush.
You cannot purchase plants at Daniel Boone Gardens. During the summer, the Farmers' Market is set up right beside Daniel Boone Gardens, and you can buy many different plants there. There is also a nursery called the Mustard Seed about 15 minutes from the gardens.
They do not but if you go to the Farmer's Mkt on Saturdays across from the parking lot you will find some.
