The officer from this division who worked the accident my daughter was in was a professional and his assistance was greatly appreciated. Good job. The fact that you cant reach anyone by phone at this division to get the accident report on the other hand was terrible. Cant even find out if its ready to get before making the trip. They used to be available online but now you have to physically go into the Division to get it.

I this review is only my opinion not based off others but my experience here in Charlotte! Yesterday night I had got locked out my car by accident there was a police officer on duty at the ABC store and I had kindly interrupted his conversation with a store worker inside the ABC store. This man “police officer” looked at me like I had four heads! When I asked for help he told me no he could not help me and suggested I call poppalock I said that’s way to expensive do you know anybody that can help me in the middle of the night as a young female. He said no and wouldn’t even come take a look or help! Thank God for the kind strangers in the ABC parking lot that helped me! Who ever that police officer was I just want to say do better!! I understand you probably didn’t want to Patrol the ABC store but what is the point if your not willing to help anybody! Disappointed how he didn’t check on the people who was out there for 3 hours helping me. This is just one person that gives Charlotte police department a bad rep. Do better

Call 311 and ask City information. This is not a permit that the Police Department would issue.
The Police Division offices are open for daylight hours, because no clerical staff is available at night or on weekends. If you need to make a report of an accident or more serious crime you should always dial 911 to have an officer dispatched. Non-emergency reports can be made on line at cmpd.org or by calling 311 and asking for non-emergency police services.
