This is definitely a bridge as advertised. Would recommend if you need to cross the river.

Very interesting Bridge. Was a RR bridge but is now strickly for pedestrians. Its over a mile long and a few hundred feet above the Hudson River. They have excellent signs explaining the sighte and history of location. Walkers to sides and bikers down middle. Worked very well. Well worth s aside trip or making it a destination.

- Recent improvement. The toll station was removed and fees are now collected by 'Easy Pass' or by a bill sent where your identification is determined from photographing your license plate. Crossing the bridge, even if you have no need to do so, is worthwhile to.experience a wonderful view of Hudson River. Better yet is to travel a small distance north and take as stroll on the 'Walkway Over The Hudson', a railway bridge that the State of New York assisted by the Dyson Family and by the community into one of The Mid&Hudson regions great experiences. The bridges still gas a few traffic tie-ups during busy hours though the toll station removal has eased these.. Needs a bit of cleaning up, psinting and roadway improvement.

At the Mid-Hudson Bridge, such vehicles shall be prohibited at all times when the bridge is being operated in a three-lane configuration, currently between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 9:30 A.M. and between the hours of 2:00 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. Additional prohibitions may be posted from time to time during construction periods or weather related situations
You can walk across, but only the north side walk is open. On the Highland side there is a park w/ parking that's accessible to the bridge. Not sure about the Poughkeepsie side.
The toll is $1.50 cash. With an EZpass it is $1.25. Happy travels.
Call the mid Hudson bridge authority
I don't know about the M.H.B
Yes
Mostly the middle lane is always closed, It depends on roadwork, Things like that.
The above it correct unless you have ez-pass then it's cheaper
There's a pedestrian walkway on the north side of the span.
3 axels is $7.50 and about 3 dollars more for each additional axel.
