Was directed to StepOne for a simple consultation and a report to be made of me. After 3 phone conversations constituting “an extended intake”, making almost no mention of my use of drugs or alcohol or how I can keep better control of my triggers, their team decided that I should continue for 12 weeks of their program. Given that my “therapist” asked more questions about my wife and my cats than about my personal experience with alcohol I declined their treatment. It is now one month later and I’m still waiting for the report they have claimed to be writing up on me. I’m thankful that I feel confident in my sobriety from alcohol and am motivated to continue working on myself, individually. If you need the help and support of a professional, do not use StepOne.

I have been to Step One for two separate durations and I found the staff and counselors to go above and beyond for those who were putting some effort in. These people wouldn’t deal with the demands of this type of job for the types of wages they most likely earn if they didn’t care and want to make change in the world. I hope you have found your way, but realize that Step One isn’t the really way you dramatically described it
