Other than the infestation of raccoons, it's a good place to camp and the store is very convenient. It's a popular campsite but most people follow the rules. The raccoons are the …

Nice clean bathrooms and good camping sites with flat ground for us to throw a tent on. There's water and trash bins around for easy access and a boat ramp for us to throw our kayaks in. The only thing it's missing are showers.

We camped in early to mid October and it was pretty quiet. Great family atmosphere, still a few seasoned floaters were out camping and very friendly. Clean area and beautiful views of the Current River from the campsites with gravel bar access to relax and play.

Great campground! You are literally right next to the Current River, they have 2 set's of shower's and an ampitheatre. We love staying at this campground.

Yes, during off season it's all FCFS. Went in early April before season started.
You can but you are on a section of the Current that isn't great for fishing. It's a little warm for good trout fishing and it's a little cool for consistent smallmouth fishing.

No but the bathhouse and pavillion is amazing and cannsuit your needs
Campsite sits on the river. We have them take us up river and float down to campsite.
The road thru the campground is paved but the sites themselves are not. There is only one access road into the campground (on the east end). Most of the sites are around 10 -15 feet above the normal river level. Park Rangers or the site steward would notify everyone if flooding is iminent. The road in/out climbs at least 100 feet as soon as you leave the campground itself. The only thing you might have to worry about IMO would be traffic if everyone is trying to get out at the same time.
