This hospital is beyond despicable. Absolute worst, unethical and careless. THEY STOLE PATIENT’S BELONGINGS. Patient arrived with a backpack containing IPAd Pro, iPhone 8 Max, prescription glasses, ID card, other cards and more. Shortly after arrival, patient went into a coma. The backpack with the valuable items is now missing. The clothes the patient was wearing when admitted are also missing. Only the patient’s ID and other cards that were in the backpack are given back. The Distribution Department (where they keep track of belongings), the Advocacy Department and all the departments where patient was treated, were contacted. They couldn't care less. Tatiana, the Patient Advocacy Dept bully, is an incompetent, ruthless human being, typical person working this type of job position, uninterested in solving patients problems. (Patient Advocacy Dept always advocates for the hospital, against the patient.) She even suggested that the EMS transport people might have changed the patient’s clothes in the vehicle and thrown them away and that she does not know who the EMS company was, that I had to figure it out myself. That is the only scenario she has been able to come up with. SERIOUSLY? Stealing from a patient or anyone is bad, but hospital staff stealing from a patient in a coma is beyond my comprehension. Of course they are being sued.

My mom (who has a family history of health issues) went to the emergency room for pain and they took longer than 3 hours! They wait until it’s the worst case scenario: only until someone had a seizure did they let them in. They work SLOW and show LITTLE concern for patients. Many people came up to ask for their wait time and they can’t even give you that much. It’s USELESS. The worst attention ever. This is also not the first time we’ve been there. My father has cancer and there’s always some issue with this hospital! And referring us to a patient advocacy number is not helpful at all. The hospital should take charge. Do not trust this hospital.

So far so good they are the first ones to actually try to figure out my daughter's medical issues. It's complicated. They definitely need more staffing. As of now she still in the hospital so I will update as we go.

This place has turned into hell on earth! Stony brook used to be nice. I don't know what happened but the staff( especially nurses & aids) is EXTREMELY rude, unprofessional and DIRTY. I've witnessed nurses talking and laughing about/at patients while they writhe in pain or discomfort. They are either rude and snappy or completely dismissive. There are definitely HIPPA laws being violated as well. The meds you get probably will be the right treatment but the CARE? THERE IS NONE!!! The night staff falls asleep on the job whilst the day staff are either laughing with co-workers or texting on their phones! There is NO bedside manner and NO compassion. Stony brook you need to retrain your entire nursing staff or hire people that actually like their jobs. When it comes to the medical field these are not just "paycheck" jobs. AT LEAST be competent. If you have a choice avoid this place at all costs!

$8 for an hour visiting a patient, ridiculous!!! Must be really hard up for $$ or super pennie pinching. Parking should be free if family is in the hospital.
Yes, there are volunteering opportunities available to those as young as 14 years of age. You can visit stonybrookmedicine.edu/patientcare/hospital-volunteers for more information.

They close now they open at 8am or just go into the hospital and you will be able to speak yo someone
Call the main number.. I don't believe so
I don't know you would have to call
If you go to the hospital information desk they will be able to direct you to the volunteer department.
Yes, in the ER.
Translation: Why must one wait 12 hours to be seen. That's bad and they charge so much money for a visit. My wife had to wait 12 hours to be seen by the doctor. They should improve on the waiting time. The wait time is ridiculous! You would think there is only one working doctor.
No. There is not. Only a Starbucks and gift shop.
Only under doctors orders
No, that would be against HIPPA laws
Medical records
It is located on the fifth floor. there is an information desk at the entrance of the hospital that will be able to direct you in the right direction.
Go to Stony Brook ER. They have a room or two dedicated to dental emergency care
I have high mark and it was accepted
