Unfortunately, no.. you are better off going to either neighboring boardwalk. These would be in old Stony Brook or down town Port Jefferson.

you will need the New York DEC permit for open land use that can be picked up for free on the NY DEC website. it is a pdf that you fill out and send and then put print out in your car window.

Can you go camping on the wetland area? When I was walking down the trail I saw number markers on the pavement sectioning out different spots

I think it's $15 for Brookhaven residents without the seasonal pass, and $20 for non-residents.
