I can see why people live near Lake Michigan. It does feel like you’re on the ocean. Lovely area for relaxing or enjoying activities.

We visited in the off season but it was well worth it if you are a lighthouse enthusiast. Much to see here.

The lighthouse was pretty. The waves crashing against the base of where the lighthouse stands makes for a fun exciting experience because you never know if a wave is going to crash hard enough and high enough to splash you up top. My kids got a kick out of it and I even screamed a little when one got me. Lol

If you park over by the yacht club, that's free, at least it used to be, believe it still is now, but it is a walk, maybe half mile? For the beach lots, it is $15 but if you are a michigan city resident, it's free of you have a pass. You can get one from the senior center nearby. Don't remember how much, but much cheaper for a year than $15 a pop
Yes
We parked in the very first parking lot once you enter the park but then moved up to the lot nearest the beach. It's free to park at the hour we arrived, which was around 5AM. We usually leave before the park opens at 8AM.
There is one I know of but I dont recall the name. The Blue Chip is within a couple miles also.
