We parked in the very first parking lot once you enter the park but then moved up to the lot nearest the beach. It's free to park at the hour we arrived, which was around 5AM. We usually leave before the park opens at 8AM.
Park in The Washington Park Beach area. It's 8 dollars to park all day. There are also some shoreline excursions and jet ski rentals within walking distance ( near the lighthouse museum).
