Some great books here but overall has an elitist and condescending curation style. Staff was rude. This place thinks that because they know a thing or two about art and literature and have a wealthy clientele, that makes them better than you. Go a couple blocks to Alabaster Bookshop for the same books without the pretentiousness or attitude.

Among the best bookstores in the country. Small but excellent selection. Informed staff. And a lovely building. Don’t miss.

Cozy and minimal art bookstore. Tehy have interesting collections of art, architecture, film, photography and more.

One for the best book stores in New York for my money. Not the widest collection, but that’s not really the point - the curation of books in that room is excellent. It’s easy to find something that’s interesting but it’s all in there waiting for you to pick it up.

This store specializes in art books and interesting esoteric literature. I wouldn't necessarily look there for Sci fi.
No I don't buy books but the Strand on 12th Street and Broadway will buy him off you no matter what they are you'll take them you're not good with top dollar though
