Great, wilderness survival weekend camporee. CYC kept it safe and fun. Very cold but boys and girls kept warm completed the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge.

Beautiful grounds and well kept year round in my experience. My only complaint is the latrines - they stink I’ve been to several other campgrounds with similar latrine setups and there’s virtually no smell, not the case at Hoyt. It seems no matter where you set up camp you’re sure to be downwind of the stinky smell. Prepare yourself, there is no escaping a face full of this stench even if you’re just doing #1. My advice - learn to hold your breath for at least two minutes, or maybe that was the lesson all along.
