Yep, great place for dogs. There is an off-leash area, otherwise leash laws apply. Lots of places to walk/explore with your dog.
They do have a campground with RV and tent spots, Yurts and Cabins. Enjoy
They have a machine that you can put your payment into and get a receipt if the park ranger is out of the booth, but I'm not positive weather or not they have a locked gate. I don't THINK they do, it sounds illegal to lock people up inside of a State Park.
Call them: (503) 678-1251
Whether you call or go online, you may make reservations 1 day to 9 months in advance of your first night's stay. https://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=reserve.dsp_reserve
Great place for picnic. We have had an annual picnic there for 40 years. As mentioned just watch for the squirrels.
It's often difficult to get a site here. Especially on the weekends. If you're bicycle camping, just show up and they'll make room for you. Car and rv camping reservations are highly recommended.
I don't have any kids myself but I would watch over them carefully make sure that they stay safe. I don't know if there's any kid designated water streams.
I have not been to the visitor center nor to the campground so I do not know about wifi, however, cell service seems to be fine and I imagine a hotspot would work as well
You can visit the state parks website for most of your reservation needs or at least get contact info on how to reserve them.
Normally yes but they are currently open only for emergency personnel due to Covid 19
Don't swim in champoeg park it's not safe
Not by the road but there's a dock
It is indeed a boat dock. No boat ramp. Boat dock is assessable through the Oak Grove Day Use Area. There are stairs and ramp to get to it. John Mullen Park Manager
Yes.there are different areas shaded and unshaded the townsite and riverside plus disc golf area all have bbq grills and running water available.you can book online there is a 5.00$ parking fee per car
Yes it is. Look forward to having you out. Best. John M. Park Manager
Camping is year round and check in starts at 4PM. the cost per campsite can run from $33-$57 depending on the type of campsite you occupy.
DAR cabin was moved some time ago to the Robert Newell House which is owned and operated by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). They are less than a 1/4 mile west of the main entrance to Champoeg State Heritage Area (aka Champoeg State Park). Link to their web site is http://newellpioneervillage.com/ The Robert Newell house was built in 1852 and said cabin, called the Pioneers Mother's Memorial Cabin, was built in 1929 and is currently a museum of pioneer life. Check their website for times.
Some hiking trails & think Vikings well. Do have tent area, but no power.
Yes, both the A loop, and B loop have multiple showers. Including a handicap accessible one.
Yes, bring your own briquettes.
Some of the trails might be a little rough for it, but the majority of the park should be accessible to him.
$29 per site. Yurt sites are $50 + $8 reservation fee. D, E and F are pet sites.
You can use a campfire, outside; or, you could bring your own hot plate, electric grill, etc... You could also bring your own gas grill for outdoor cooking. Basically, consider it the same as tent camping; although, you have the benefit of plug-in power sources.
Dogs are allowed in some yurts at state parks. You will want to check the reservation site to see if the yurt you want allows dogs.
There are about five strictly tent sites with no amenities- these are reliant on a communal water source; however, there are restrooms, with full showers, in both loops A and B. There is also a restroom in the RV loop. 63 sites are noted to have electricity. 11 of the sites have water, sewer and electricity. The yurts and cabins are equipped with electricity.
Only as good of fishing as the Willamette river can offer. People fish off the boat dock there.
Not for sure but I don't believe so
I dont know ..just give them a call during business hours
Prices to camp are affordable and listed on the state parks website..
There is a dock with a walking ramp, ok for kayaks, but no boat ramp, check out Rogers landing in Newberg there is a boat ramp, launch there.
I believe so. Go to oregon state parks to see current regulations.
Camp sites have standard state park fire rings. So you can have a "normal" campfire, but if you're looking to build some 5'+ diameter bonfire, that's a "no".
