Good experience adopting a cat, "Big Boy" has been a great addition to the family. The animals are treated very well and the staff are nice

Adopt don't shop. Best place to get ANY kind of animal. They are well cared for and looking for furever homes.

Friendly place with great staff. The care and attention that the animals receive is really shown by how energetic they are.

They do have birds so I would think yes.
They do take Guinea Pigs
Volunteering is allowed, kids between 12-16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
We have some kittens, but they have all been adopted.
I don't believe they are the same. Best way to know would be to call Berkshire Humane Society directly.
You fill out a application. Must prove landlord approval or proof you own your home.
Hi Pamela - I work at the shelter and just saw your question. When you come in - if you haven't already - you can speak to the feline and the kennel staff. They can answer all your questions. It really depends on the cat and the dog. They do cat-test all the dogs, so they can show you the ones that have lived with cats, or are likely to be the most calm and non-reactive around them. Hope this helps!
All animal adopted from Berkshire Humane Society are spayed and neutered before going home. We work with local veterinarians. The shelter doesn't fix animals not adopted from them; however, we do have some programs to help qualifying families who cannot afford to take their pet to the vet. Please give the shelter a call, and someone at the front desk can provide those resources. We also have a program each December called "100 Cats for Christmas." It's a low-cost, grant-funded program that allows us to help 100 cats and kittens get fixed each year. Hope this is helpful!
They do have ferrets at times. But ferrets seem to be adopted fairly quickly.
Hi Joanne. Thanks for thinking about us. If it is in good, clean condition we will take it. Thank you!
No, sorry, we do not take reptiles.
No, but thanks for thinking about us!
We do not, but thanks for thinking of us!
We are now open to the public and do not require an appointment, but making one is always appreciated!
The public is welcome to visit us during business hours -- Tuesday - Saturday 10 to 4, Sunday 1 to 4. We are also open Thursday evening 5 to 8.
Thanks for asking! We do not have ferrets or rats at this time.
Yes, they will just call them during business hours.
Exactly what Janelle said. When my daughter was looking we went to a dozen shelters from ny to vermont. Some have restrictions on where you can move the dog but she got a perfect fit and found her a great dog to make her a puppy mom
If it was clean...I would 😊
Tuesday-Friday 10am-3:30pm Saturday 10am-11:30am You will need to call to make an appointment first to assure the right staff is available for your needs. So very sorry😪
Best bet is to call a vet. If you need one South Street Veterinary Service in excellent
Agreed. Good luck. Love my puppy from there. Good people.
You should definitely call and ask them, this is a general forum for people to answer questions not their staff.
My rabbit was spayed there before I adopted her and I had no problems. The facility is one of the cleanest I have ever seen and animals are treated really well. I would definitely recommend them.
Just call and make arrangements.leave a message they do return calls.good luck Tammy

I would call there and talk to the staff. 447 7878. Thank you for caring for Mom and her Babies
You should contact them directly. This is a place for Google users to ask and answer questions about businesses.

I think you can do it in the same day. I adopted a bunny a few months ago and took her home the same day I went. Great place to adopt! Beautiful facility!
We have a volunteer program that has very specific guidelines. Give us a call or come by the shelter and our volunteer coordinator, Terry, can walk you through the process. We always need animal lovers to help us with our work!
Our shelter staff work every single day of the year, regardless of holidays or weather.
Hi Ivy - I'm not sure what you are referring to. We don't have a wait list that I am aware of. If there is a specific question about an animal, please give the shelter a call. The feline and kennel staff have the most up-to-date information on all the animals. Thank you!
When we have them, yes! Check out website under Critters to see what small animals are available - or come by and look in person. Some small animals don't make it to the website before being adopted. You can also call and ask.
Hi Gail - No, but if you need financial assistance you can call the shelter and ask for resources. Sometimes we hold vaccine clinics for under-served areas of the Berkshires. You might also ask your vet for recommendations or if they have a payment plan. Thank you!
