I had implants on my bottom and a full set ordered. The surgery caused a mouth infection two days postop and took two weeks for pain to begin to dissipate. After my bottom temporary denture, an impression was made for them to create it. I reviewed it and was told to verbally instruct them on anything I wanted changed. I told them I wanted one tooth on the left slightly crooked, demonstrated where and that the vertical nature of the teeth were otherwise okay. When fitted for the final lower over the implants, I didn’t like how it felt or looked. I actually said, “I hate it.” It was all wrong. My 3.5mm overbite was no longer present and the front 4 teeth were jutted outwards and we’re not vertically straight as I’d asked. They insisted it made my bite better. That was not what I agreed to have happen. Never mind the bite. They told me I could have them made exactly as I wanted. After tears and several conversations, I was told to try them over the summer and that if I still didn’t like them after that that they would redo them. That offer came with the warning that IF they ended up redoing them, that could only happen once. I returned after the summer, still unsatisfied with my lowers. They are now REFUSING to remake them. They tell me they are “fine” and that they never said that they would remake them. The uppers are a different story. They are happy to do those right away. However, they were supposed to set up a phone call with a Texas surgeon to schedule for my upper alveoplasty and implants into my zygomatic bone. No one ever called me. Now, I’m getting my uppers crafted so as to “get my money’s worth” for the full set for which I’d already paid in full. This means my bone will continue to deteriorate, and I will need to buy replacements every five to ten years. I can’t understand how they can say I need my bite perfect but then could care less about even suggesting I get those implants to prevent BONE LOSS. The only solution they have for my dissatisfaction with my lowers is to consult with “some other” denture specialist. Although, they never told me what they could do once I consult one! They promised, guaranteed, told me they would honor that, and have completely gone back on their word. I’ve been dismayed and cried and dealt with really rude lab assistants (specifically the older woman who ‘made’ my lower denture — egotistical about how perfect she made it and NOT AT ALL compassionate regarding how I felt about what she’d made). The bottom implants themselves are not great either. I was told they were supposed to “snap” in. They do not. They slide in and I have to use glue still. They didn’t check my implants today even though I’d asked when scheduling. The right one is still loose —has been from the first time they put my new permanent in; besides not looking like I want, they don’t fit right. I cannot for life of me understand either why they haven’t asked about the upper implant arrangement, why they didn’t have that surgeon call me, nor why they seem content allowing the upper to be made without implants to prevent further bone loss. Dissatisfaction isn’t even the word. I feel used, betrayed, depressed, violated and neglected. I’m angry that they lack integrity, refer to their notes to verify interactions, yet never transcribe those interactions in the first place. I’ve begun recording my meetings with them and have my dad along to witness when I am able. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. They’ll initially paint a perfect picture that you’ll get everything for which you ask (and never follow through), they’ll state they work with complicated medical histories (but they won’t consult with your Neuro or pain management doctor whom you gave releases for and subsequently this will leave you suffering postop). They will promise, guarantee and they will not honor what they claim they will. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. ANYWHERE. Somewhere like “Joe’s Aluminum Siding, Dentures and Implants” would be a far better choice for your dentures and implants.
