The Berkeley Hotel

The people are truly what make this hotel extraordinary. The valet, the front desk agent are second to none. The hotel however is dated and doesn’t offer any amenities. $25 to rent a microwave. There isn’t a mini cooler/refrigerator in the room. Water pressure in the rooms was awful. It was a decent bed to sleep in, and comfortable for the night. Besides that it doesn’t offer anything more. Two and a half star hotel at best.

My boyfriend and I liked our stay here. We arrived here on Tuesday and stayed for a night. I have a service dog with me so the front desk lady got me a corner room which is quite spacious. The room is clean and neat. Bathroom is huge. The bedding was very comfortable too. It’s nothing like a motel. I was on a road-trip and definitely experienced what a motel is like. This is way much better than a motel… Berkeley may be a bit old but is totally comfortable. The location is good too. Many restaurants close by. We had no issue finding street parking here during our stay.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and paid almost $300 for a “premium room” to stay one night in this hotel that, as someone else said, was more like a Motel 6. Small rooms with no amenities. Old furniture, burnt out fixtures, no room cleaning during your stay, no microwave or fridge (in a $300 room?). The best part was going out of the hotel and walking around to see all the shops and restaurants. Would never stay here again. Several others recommended the Omni. We had breakfast there and it was elegant and beautiful, I wish we’d stayed there! Disappointed but I hope I save somebody else some trouble because this is not a luxury hotel in any way.

If it was a motel 6, it'd be great. It's trashy for the price and the way it presents itself. Had to wait for the front desk to finish their cigarette to check in, the decor and furniture seem to be whatever was left in unpaid storage units, and the room was obviously just straightened up rather than cleaned.
