Use to really love the common pantry. A part of me still does because you can't control what someone else b does. Last week I was and handed someone my card and it got b through transfer of hands somehow. Stuff happens I wasn't mad at that. I was mad at the way I was treated. I was talk to very disrespectedly. I was told I didn't hand it in. You have get another one. You have to get in the other. Mind you it very some of us is sick and are not suppose to be in the hot sun. Then I notice this. I have 3 people on my card. I get enough for one. The person in front of me has enough for 10 and has card for 5. Oh the pictures will show the rest. The picture on the table is what I received for 3 people. I think they should wear name tags . So we know who we are speaking to.. The lady and the gentleman with the red. Were very nasty. I don't have a option not to go. But just as long as someone looks into this matter. Thank you.

New York Common Pantry would be a good organization if they hire better leadership. Employees of color are paid less that white colleagues. Stephen only cares about the bottom line of his pockets and not the community he claims he serves.

People work there on a volunteer basis! Our community should be thankful that there are people who are willing to give of their time to assist needy new yorkers...

They do accept donations. Please make sure all items are unopened.

Just go in and register with them and you'll receive food items the same day.
I've never heard of them mailing the invite, they always give it out on the spot, you should go back with your card and speak to someone

Yes, assistance is available.
I would suggest that you call NY common pantry and tell them that you have a food donation.. And, thank you for your gesture of goodwill donation..
Birth Certificates, ss cards, letter from the Shelter where you all are staying at for all members of your family that should be all you need.

Hi, due to the high volume of calls and messages we receive it can take a few days for us to return your call. Clients are eligible to receive a pantry package as long as it has been fourteen days (14) since thier last pick up date and their account is still active. Please note clients must recertify their accounts every year. If a client cannot pick up on the pantry day written behind their card, they can pick up a package on any other panty distribution day: Wednesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 2 PM.

It is actually both. The common pantry gives food that you carb take home and prepare or you can stay for lunch or dinner.
They are only doing bagged lunches today. They are open till about 6. today because of presidents day.
Yes you can..
Not sure ?l
Just go to the pantry and they will help you with everything you will need.
There are also haircuts and doctor's
The pantry is open today, If I can recall until about 6pm. But you can check the website for exact times on Fridays.
You need to provide photo ID. You also need to provide a copy of your housing lease or current utility bill (NOT a cable TV bill) in order to qualify to pick up food from the pantry to take home. That does not apply to meals served at their E. 109 St. location
Go here and enter your credentials... https://fp.unicentric.com/FoodPantry/logon?ReturnUrl=%2fFoodPantry
Must be registered. ID is a must. They will give an emergency thought, if you state you have no food.Closed on Monday.
If you can provide a lease that has everyone on it, it will definitely ease the burden of proof that you all live together...but you will also need to provide proof of income For each person...i would also bring mailings that are officially addressed to you, your mom and your sister...your family may also ask assistance in applying for SNAP/EBT benefits, just ask to see a benefit assistance counselor.Above all don't worry, help will soon come to your family...
Yez
Jacklyne answered it best. Just make sure that you have all of the documents, so you don't have to come back & forth. Have Id's for everyone in the house(adults) A recent bill with your address on it & all birth certificates for all children that lives in the home
There not open today cause of the holiday but you can go tomorrow bring proof of address and photo is and they can help you
They are twice a month but first you have to register and they are 6 days a week there they ask you what day you want to bring the fortnight's purchase
They provide what is available that they receive in donations. You will have to go on the designated day to pick it up, they give it out on a first come, fisrt serve basis, so it's best to arrive right before they open.
On Tuesday between 6 and 7 on 74th and 1st there is a free hot dinner served at Jan Hus Presbyterian. Also on Sunday at 5pm free hot dinner is served at Christ Church at 60th and Park. Entrance on side of church.
If you're a pantry member your 11 and 4 yr olds would receive tickets for gifts to be distributed in December.
You have to register for the pantry and at that time you can choose what day you want to come. The time depends on your family size; starts at 10am for a family of 1-2 people.
