Birth Certificates, ss cards, letter from the Shelter where you all are staying at for all members of your family that should be all you need.
You have to bring in id for yourself and birth certificates for the kids. You also need to have a kitchen to cook the food. If you don't have a kitchen they will put you on the hot meal program. Call them and ask about it.
