Even though he got a raw deal in the end, I'm glad Lincoln had these cool courts to play volleyball on before he met that Booth guy.

Unfortunately, NPS has closed the courts for "rehabilitation", but there does not seem to ever be any work being done to move this project along. As usual, they are months, if not years, behind schedule on getting things done.

Playing pick-up volleyball at the Lincoln Memorial sand courts is one of my favorite ‘DC Summer’ activities. The courts are managed by the government department of recreation and are the only public courts from the Capital to the Potomac - they're usually in pretty decent shape You simply can’t beat the views located along the Potomac River and essentially at the backstops of the Lincoln Memorial and the entire National Mall. You’re able to just show up and jump in for pick up and can find games at all competitive levels. There are also leagues and you have the ability to reserve courts/sites online. If you’re worried about availability, check the schedule ahead of time online. Other Thoughts: - (11) Sand Courts - “Season” is technically April 01, 2020 – October 31, 2020 - Court/site reservable for $30 day - Public water fountain/hose - Plenty of shaded area for in-between games - Courts will fill up quickly on nice weekend days

Yes!! We play in Crystal City Volleyball. Theres lights during night
No, but there is a chance that you could play with people who are playing there.
Doubles is super easy to call next on. Watch the 3 mens/coed courts to see which is more suited to your level and call next. Weeknights players show up by 5pm and weekends there are players basically all day, but more in the morning.
4s courts are reservable and the doubles courts are challenge courts, so winner stays and must accept challenges. When 4s courts are not reserved they are also challenge courts.
