We rented all 12 cottages for our wedding in May 2022. The location is perfect- right on the water, walking distance to the beach, marina, and a restaurant/bar. The cottages were clean with very basic amenities. The only negative was the lack of privacy. We had staff members show up at our cottages daily without warning. The man who was sent to search all our screened in porches at 8AM for holes did apologize for the invasion of privacy, but continued to show up throughout our stay.

These cottages are great but there's some things about them that could be improved. For starters they're managed by the state parks, this means you get a cottage feel but things like the bathroom make you realize it's a state run operation; Commercial toilet paper dispenser, heavy door handles, etc. The beds are not comfortable in the slightest, they definitely picked the cheapest option. Bring a mattress topper! That said the HVAC and insulation are kinda trash, when it's on the HVAC is super loud and during the winter months all the heated air sits in the loft sleeping area which is great until it's uncomfortable then you're opening a window. The downstairs gets cold quickly. But they are fully furnished and do in fact sleep six comfortably. The fireplace is gas operated and controlled by a pair of switches on the wall next to it. It's more efficient at heating than the HVAC is. Parking requires a blue pass in your car which you're given at check-in, the pass applies to the entirety of the park. If you stay here, be sure to pack in groceries, it's a 15 minute drive in either direction to find food. All in all I would recommend it, there's just definitely some things that could be improved.

I've been coming to the tent campground for over a decade. This was the first time we tried the cottages, and they are lovely! We may start using them more than the tents!
