Greyhound Pet Adoptions of Delaware

We don’t require a fenced yard but absolutely DO require that your greyhound be on-leash AT ALL TIMES if s/he isn’t in a fully enclosed area.

The greyhounds we pick up from the track range in age from about 2 years old to about 4 years old - average life expectancy is 12 years. As athletes, they arrive from the track in very good physical condition and due to very careful breeding, NGA racing greyhounds aren't prone to some of the conditions that affect other large breed dogs, such as hip dysplasia. They often develop osteoarthritis in their senior years, just as other dogs (and people) do.
