I love this art museum.

We ❤️ the BMA! Anytime we have friends or family visiting, it’s a must-see on our Baltimore experiences list. You could spend hours in here admiring the world’s largest collection of Matisse, the highlighting of local artists, or the ancient artifacts. Not to mention, it’s FREE!

Splendid. I was super happy with Salman Toor exhibit @ Baltimore Museum of Art. This hidden gem museum displays an amazing variety of beautiful Art. I plan to visit again for John waters collection next month. Please don’t forget to have a nice meal at Gertrude’s at the lobby garden. Kiss, Olan

Baltimore is very lucky to have such an amazing collection from the Cone Sisters. Mattise, Monet, Picasso, Renior.... Among other. No fee to enter but you can donate.

Yes Mr. Easley, as the BMA is currently at limited capacity in an effort to provide a safe environment for all, reservations are required to visit. You may secure tickets for you and your guests at this link (https://artbma.org/visit/plan-your-visit/). Hope to see you in the galleries soon, Mary-Margaret

Thank you for reaching out to The Baltimore Museum of Art. Please know that the BMA will announce further details regarding the considerations and process for acquisitions in 2020 at a later date. Look to our website (artbma.org) as well as regional media outlets in the months to come. This commitment is an extension of 2020 Vision, the BMA's year of exhibitions and programs dedicated to female-identifying artists and leaders. Stay well, Mary-Margaret, BMA Marketing Manager
Thank you for your support of the BMA. The BMA is always closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which includes Labor Day. Museum hours are Wednesday-Sunday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Having a mummy is a great way to wrap-up a museum visit! Ha! I made a funny
It does not do appraisals.
Yes
My son works there and said he it rnds on July 29th
We went yesterday without reservations.
Joan Mitchell opens Sunday March 6 and will be on view until August 14, 2022. Non-Member tickets and one-hour docent-led tours of the exhibition go on sale today at artbma.org. Looking forward to seeing you in the galleries.
Jan, there is one lot adjacent to the BMA's main entrance as well as metered parking on Art Museum Drive and Charles Street. Enjoy your visit!
Wed-Sat right now
It's free admission but there are special exhibits that you may have to pay a fee to get into. You can always go to the main desk to ask about the special exhibits and their cost. There is plenty to see under the free admission.
Mr. Heyert, I have passed your question along to our librarian and hope to have information for you this week. Thank you for your interesting question. Be well, Mary-Margaret, BMA Marketing Manager
Thanks to all who have answered Pat's question. The BMA does indeed offer guided tours for groups. Please use the following link to request one for your church group. Looking forward to seeing you in the BMA galleries soon, Mary-Margaret, Marketing Manager https://s3.amazonaws.com/artbma/documents/BMA_Adult-Tour-Request-Form.pdf?pdf=DocentLedTour
The BMA is always closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which includes Labor Day. Thank you for your support of the BMA.
Why not just contact them and ask them? http://www.artbma.org/about/contact.html
The museum has 2 parking lots. A lot easier to park there for $7 than finding parking on the street.
The BMA is located in Charles Village, adjacent to the campus of Johns Hopkins University, at 32nd and Charles Streets. Street parking ($2 for four hours) and Museum lots ($7 all day) are available. Maryland Transit Administration buses CityLink Silver (formerly No. 3) and LocalLink 51 (formerly No. 11) drop you near the BMA as does the Charm City Circulator Purple Route. Admission is free but the BMA does host ticketed exhibitions. Hope to see you in the galleries soon! Be well, Mary-Margaret
Ms. Meng, there is no free parking available. Metered street parking is $2 for four hours and $7 in the two lots adjacent to the BMA for all day. Hope to see you in the galleries soon. Stay well, Mary-Margaret
There is usually no food in the meseum unless there is a special gala. Gertrude's is open at 5pm I believe.
Hello Skyler---admission to the BMA is free with the exception of ticketed exhibitions, such as our upcoming Monsters & Myths: Surrealism and War in the 1930s and 1940s. The majority of our education programs and events, such as Commons Collaboration and Open Hours, are also free. Learn more at https://www.artbma.org/events/index.html Thank you for your interest in the BMA.
Nabor, thank you for your question. Dogs are not permitted in the galleries or Sculpture Garden. Be well, Mary-Margaret on behalf of the BMA
No -- the museum is closed on Thanksgiving day but will open on Friday from 10 an to 5 pm.
Yes, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. And the BMA is free every day, Wednesday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. with the exception of ticketed exhibitions like the fabulous John Waters: Indecent Exposure, now on view.
The museum is free, but the special exhibition (currently John Waters) is not free.
As far as I know, it's free to get in. I just walked in the last time I went there. And just for FYI you have to put any bag pack you have in a locker inside the museum for safe keeping.
Best answer is FREE. Sometimes there are special exhibits that have an admission cost BUT their regular exhibits are always free. Note: if you come with kids ask at the welcome desk about times for their special kidd programs.
Yes, the museum has handicapped parking at all of their parking lots. And kind staff inside the museum to help & advise you on their many services.
Laura is correct! The BMA is celebrating the anniversary of the Friends Group that supports this amazing collection!
Local Guide Bellamy is obviously wrong. There has been a good restaurant at the BMA for more than 25 years. First came Donna's, and she's got two other Baltimore spots that are both doing well. Gertrude's took over the space about 20 years ago. They feature Chesapeake seafood including rockfish (very similar to seabass), marvelous crabcakes in many forms, and good vegetarian items as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. Chef John Shields is one of Baltimore's finest..
Yes, Gertrude's is in the museum and it's very nice. A little overpriced due to the location but it's convenient and good.
museum is free but you have a restaurant inside if you llike to eat something.
You'll have to ask them.
Two lots are available for $7 all day. There are also many meters on art museum drive—-$2 for three hours. And the BMA is on the free Charm City Circulator Purple Route.
Nonflash photos are allowed.
The museum probably doesn't do that but they may be able to point you in the right direction. Also google art galleries that deal with that artist. Or auction house as the others suggested
Give them a call;however, they are not very good about returning calls. Therefore I would try to get someone on the line when you call.
Yes closed every Monday & Tuesday ==> except for a few special events.
I would try the American Visionary Art Museum as well
There are better things to do with children, like the aquarium or the science center if you are just looking for activities
I don't believe they have any Kahlo pieces. Many great works in the Cone collection, but unfortunately none of Frida's work.
The best answer is, go to the website and do a search or the permanent collection.
A couple blocks away there is limited free parking.
It's free to the public...a good place for family fun, esp. on Saturdays. Also look out for Free Fall activities in the month of October where you can attend most area attractions in Baltimore free of charge.
Museum is free, parking costs money, and good luck leaving without apending money at the gift shop or restaurant.
