Absolutely no compassion at all for the families of patients so I highly doubt that they do any better for the ACTUAL patients themselves. My brother was Baker acted on Friday, September 23rd, 2022. We only knew that he was Baker acted but we didn't know where he was taken because his phone was taken away. I called every place trying to find him. I called Riverpoint, Memorial Hospital, Baptist, MHRC North, and MHRC South. All of them said they didn't have them. All of them were very polite and compassionate with the exception of MHRC South. The woman who answered the phone rushed me, cut me off multiple times, and really just seemed annoyed with having to deal with families at all. I was so confused because these were the only places Baker acted people get taken in Duval. Finally we called Jax Beach police and they told us where he was taken. It was MHRC South the whole time. The woman on the phone lied because she was that annoyed by the mere forty seconds of time I took up to ask about my brother. It was a black woman's voice. I called back and the same woman answered and she answered just as rude as the first time, again rushing me. When I was trying to spell my brother's name, she cut me off halfway through and shouted that she couldn't hear anything because it was so noisy in there. She transferred me to someone (I think Jennifer) who finally gave me a number to the patient line that I could call in half an hour after group session was over. I'm disgusted that I had to go through all of that just to find out whether my brother was still alive or not. He has been Baker acted a dozen times since age eleven and we thought maybe he was dead which is why none of the facilities were acknowledging him being there. It also angers me because MHRC South was the FIRST place we called and if they hadn't lied the first time then we wouldn't have spent a half hour calling the other four places. When you answer the phone, you are literally the first point of contact that patients and families have with the facility. I'm sickened that this person works in the crisis stabilization ward because she seems like a literal crisis herself. Ghetto and impatient. If she talks like that to people who are calm and kind then I can only imagine how she speaks to families and patients who are frantic and worried. Also I can't imagine what the actual level of patient care is like in there. If the front desk service (probably the easiest job in the place) is that unprofessional, then I doubt that the doctors and nurses (the true high stress jobs) are actually performing any better. The noise level alone lets me know that the place is a mess and they obviously have no control in the facility. I doubt that anyone is getting any real help for their issues and from the tons of bad reviews I can see that I'm correct. Most places record their phone calls but it's worthless if no one monitors them or reviews them for quality assurance. And if they have listened to her prior calls then it's a disgrace that they keep her employed. I think shes obviously a better fit for the unemployment line than any healthcare facility.

I would not recommend this place to someone who is experiencing mental illness. You are told to call a nurse if and when you have questions and you do not get any assistance at all. In my opinion they are only out to collect your money and not to help you at all. This place bills your insurance for absolutely nothing in return for the patients benefit. I would recommend doing your research and choosing another place for treatment.

I must of been one of the lucky ones. This place did help when I was at my lowest and darkest times. My ex called the suicide hotline on a three way call with me and they sent coos to bring me here where I stood for 5 days and got treatment. I did get better after leaving and seeing a therapist 2 years later… the staff was nice and helpful

You can come to mhrc 20th. They will go based on income. If you make under 27000 a yr, itll be 3 dollars a visit.

If you go to out patient services and see a MD there, yes. That's if you are already a patient there. If you are attended in patient, yes. They will give you a script when you are discharged. If you attempt a walk in, it is extremely unlikely.
