Section 8 is closed right now as they say. But public housing is open, the last time I went they said the waiting list was just a couple of months. But you have to be working at least 20 hours or more a week or be a full time student. And you have to show proof of either or that you may do.

It's hard to get in touch with them being that we have the covid-19 but they do have paperwork outside the door and you can get in fill out and they do have a drop box they have a drop box for Section 8 and Dropbox for housing low-income housing

I've been waiting for my offer letter since September 29th 2019...I applied in April 2017.. been waiting over 3 years. I'm a single disabled female patiently waiting for a place to live.

I came here from out of state, and signed up for housing and it took 6 months almost to the day, but I wasn't given a choice where to live. Maybe call and ask if they are different

I am not sure, if you are on the waiting list, you can declare it if called or you can update it and they can determine if you are still eligible before they do call you in.

They can but I've been on the list for a year with 2 kids.

Once you are selected and meet with applications it's usually a month or two for a voucher briefing.

What I did was just Google apts.for seniors based on income. I just spent 4 hours filling out apts info to get my name in there although I don't have my sec.8 yet.it don't hurt to get your disabled self on there waiting list. as I have to make sure u put if u need help ,I personally live independently, because I found out as filling out the app.alot say was accessed living ,nope I'm disabled but I get around alone.dont need nurse checking on me all the time cause I live.alone.good luck,and god bless.hope.this helps.u be surprised how many over 55 apts income based there in Jacksonville.
