I haven’t had a system or cameras since March 2021 and every time I’ve call to cancel my service, I receive a different answer. On top of not being able to cancel my service I have to wait over an hour because they can’t assist me by text. Worse costumer service, extremely incompetent. I wouldn’t recommend anyone getting in a 5 year agreement. Unless you like to waste much time over the phone and money for lo service.

Cancellation of monthly service is extremely difficult and frustrating. My monthly rate increased without notification, equipment has aged, 11 years. Monthly fee does not include repairs or replacement or cost of a basic service call. Need to speak with a cancellation manager, works limited eastern time zone hours and does not listen, probably gets a bonus if they talk me out of stopping service. They send an email in 3 days, u have 7 to respond. Then u wait 30 to 60 days to cancel, still being billed. If you fill anything out wrong u get to start over. Dahlia A states “ make the cancellation process as seamless as possible.” Translation difficult and lengthy in hopes of u giving up and being stuck for life.

It would have been more cost effective to be robbed by an intruder than it was to have this service. Over $600 a year for pretty much nothing. Overpriced and the poorest quality equipment with limited functionality, and a nightmare to cancel. You can find better monitoring systems/providers with more functionality and quality for much less money. Brinks system and components are so cheaply constructed that they almost seem fake. Don't waste your money on the cameras. The system doesn't notify you if it gets disarmed/armed or is offline. Mine was offline for months before I discovered it. Brinks never notified me or anything. What exactly do they monitor? I finally decided to cancel and it has been weeks of the runaround and high pressure "stay" tactics. I Finally had to be rude to get them to initiate a cancellation. Still waiting to see if they cancel for real this time and stop drafting payments. So in short, I don't recommend Brinks.

I called to cancel my service. The customer associate was condescending and combative, claiming that I was under contract that I “verbally consented to”. I was informed I cannot cancel without a 1400 dollar buyout. I have never been under contract or consented to anything. They bought my old monitoring company which is prepay month to month. She wouldn’t give me her full name, proof of my “verbal contract”, or a copy of any monitoring agreement. This is a shakedown, and I’m here to pull every lever I can.

I'm in if you go that route! There is no customer service! I would also like to know how they are a 3.5 star reviewed company when all you see is 1 star reviews!
Considering I am a corporate technician I will call the office tomorrow and see what's going on in Dallas. I do know on Mondays the hold time is pretty long. Also, we are doing everything to enhance our business model which begins with providing superb customer service.
Maybe ask them for it
If any months are remaining on the agreed term they must be paid in full before a cancellation is processed.
