If you like a primitive type of camping then this is your spot! It's quiet mostly except for the occasional disrespectful jagoffs that let their generator run all day and all night long even when they're not around the camper but other than that it's pretty perfect! The issue with generators is that they echo off the mountains that surround the campground and with no other noise to help drown it out it's SUPER LOUD so people please keep this in mind as not everyone wants to listen to your ac running while we're trying to make a mountain pie or SLEEP at night! There are zero amenities there. Maybe an outhouse, maybe not. One pavilion and that's it. No water, no electric, no games, no stations to clean out the camper waist. But like I stated it's super quiet and 90% of the time and , 90% of the people are awesome. One of my favorite spots in the whole world is rite here!

Campgrounds where very well maintained and clean! The camp hosts were great! FYI if you stay in a army Corp of engineers owned campground you have to register at Recreation.gov! The only gripe I have about the campground is generators running all night! I’m a tent camper and prefer the sounds of nature not Honda!

We spent a week at site 11. The hosts were super nice and helpful. Cougar Bob's sells ice, kinda expensive but close. There was plenty of access to the creek without taking away from nature. We've been going there for over 20 years and this was the nicest year. And don't tell your kids but we have Verizon and always had service.

This place is very well kept! The hosts were very polite and everyone that stayed there during our stay was nice. It's very quiet after 10pm so you can actually sit by the fire and listen to the wildlife and look at the stars. Seen a bunch of cricket frogs, they were everywhere. There is a way to get to the river right across the road but we couldn't get to it from our campsite due to it being overgrown. Well definitely come again!!

It's recommended that you buy local firewood so that no foreign bugs are introduced into the area!
The cost for 2020 season is $12.00. If you have a senior pass, it is half price.
Trails are open. Signs ask people not to ride after 8pm or 10pm
It has been discussed repeatedly and the answer always is there would be not enough visitation to keep it open. You're welcome to call the office 814 755-3512 and express your desire for it to stay open. It definitely would help if you mentioned all the work we have done out there this fall.
No electric hookups. Water to fill your fresh water tank is available near the camp hosts site. There are 20 sites, three of which are handicapped sites. Only the handicapped sites are paved, all the rest are gravel- they all seem to be fairly level.
Yes, if you want to go through tall weeds.
Yes there is a dump station. Whether there is water for flushing and rinsing depends on the season
