I will give you the good, and the not so good. I hesitate to call it bad, because it really wasn't terrible, but worth noting. First, the good. Hotel staff were AMAZING! They were so friendly and helpful. From the front desk staff to the breakfast staff to the bar staff - they could not be nicer. With every interaction I felt like family. The room was very spacious and very clean. Every room is a suite, so there is a separate bedroom that can be closed from the remainder of the room. The price was amazing, I wold have expected to pay much more. Now for the not so good . . . I was there in early July, and it was hot outside. However, the A/C in the hotel was on overdrive. It was so cold in the hotel lobby, bar, and eating area you almost needed a coat or sweatshirt. In fact I did see several older folks bundled up because it was so darn cold. Same with my room. When I first opened the door, I was surprised at how cold it was. I had to turn off the A/C to get the room up to a manageable temperature. And while the room was super clean, you could tell it is in need of updating. The bathroom was great, but not very bright. And the sink drained very slowly. Also, the hot water faucet would leak when the cold water was turned on, making a sizeable puddle on the counter. All of these are easily fixed if they were to spend some time making regular updates. I am still providing 4 stars because the good far outweighs the not-so-good. Will definitely stay there again, as it is close to highways and friends and family when I travel to Chicago.

The pandemic cutbacks have really made this place inferior to what the Marriott standard used to be. We certainly can get by without daily maid service, however there was one tiny bar of soap for two nights for two people. We had to move it back-and-forth between the shower and the bathroom. There’s in room coffee to make in the morning, but only enough for one out of two mornings Both TVs were unplugged, and it took us a few minutes to figure out that we had to plug them in to get them to work. There was a clock radio, but the buttons to reset the time to the correct time only worked for minutes, but not for the hours. I guess everyone travels with a cell phone, so the clock in the hotel is now superfluous. The computers were down when we checked in, and they had to take a photo copy of my drivers license and credit card. Of course, they said they would shred it once it was entered, but in this day and age, businesses are not supposed to leave that information visible to employees at any time. We called the front desk to ask for an hour delay at checkout time, but we still had someone knocking at our door half an hour before the promised checkout time to clean the room. There is a morning coffee bar downstairs, but on a Sunday morning when it was busy, I had to ask for the cream containers to be refilled. There were no stirring sticks, but I snuck a spoon from the buffet next-door. We did have a lovely well presented buffet breakfast for a large group. The room was clean, and almost everything else was in working order, although the shower drained extraordinarily slowly. The room was clean, and everything seemed relatively new and fresh. Hopefully as pandemic fueled staffing shortages improve, they will be able to undo some of the cuts that they’ve been forced to make.

I was able to get a huge room at a very reasonable price. This is right by my office in the suburbs and I had two really long back-to-back days and I didn't want to have to drive in the rain to the city. I just told the front desk person that all I wanted to do was to go and go to sleep and she made sure to put me in a quiet spot. I wish I knew her name so I could give her a personal kudos. I can't speak to the restaurant or anything else at the hotel because I literally went up and lay down and went to bed and for that purpose it was perfect.

We spoke with a person over the phone before scheduling in which we were advised that the room would have two queen sized beds and a living room area. When we got to the hotel , we were given a king sized bed with a living room. After calling the front desk , we were advised that we have a pull out bed. That's not what we were told over the phone, so they did advised that we could get two beds but would not have the living room. We are not happy at all as we are from out of town , had everything scheduled and set up to be close to a family member for his graduation and just didn't want to start the entire process over. We would not have booked what we were told we would have if we were going to be lied to. Horrible service and from a Marriott very disappointed. Would not book this hotel again. I wish I remembered the person's name we spoke with over the phone, it probably would not have made a difference anyways.
