As an avid cook, I am delighted and feel lucky to have this affordable resource across the street. Go with a list, then ask to see the items you want to purchase, one-by-one. They are friendly and willing to accommodate your needs without prejudice. Be advised that some items are vulnerable to expiration and you must think carefully and choose well. It’s wasteful when produce goes stale unnecessarily. If you go with a clear list and discerning mind, you won’t be disappointed! I have recently stopped buying most of my produce from Wegmans. As we are now in a bountiful regional harvest time…take advantage of it and support the Foodlink efforts & systems.

Went to Food Link for orientation & training. The only thing that I wasn't impressed with is all of the bureaucratic paperwork you have to go through. But the cost of food and other supplies can't be beat!

The work that you do to feed America, makes my work as a financial counselor with the fellow and staff super rewarding.

It doesn't matter if they're donated. If the food is rotten, they should turn it away right there. They should not accept it for sorting. They're saying *a lot* *to us* by not doing so. How is food supposed to last a person a week,(which is usually how long someone needs until other means kick in.) When the food is mere dsts away from expiration?
It's conflict of interest to volunteer at a place you are also needing services from.
Food link is open Monday- Friday 9 AM til 3 PM
The food is in a undence that's why
Hi Debbie - At Adams Street today, the distribution did begin at 4pm, but people did line up in advance of the event and we quickly reached our max of 250 households. People can call 2-1-1 to learn about additional food resources, or visit a future distribution (3 more in ROC) this week: http://foodlinkny.org/foodlink-announces-additional-food-distributions-to-address-snap-gap/
There are a lot of our sites that run in the winter
Yes
No
Call 211
Common sense would dictate yes
That is what they do!
The food is free and they do have a lot of different places to go but it depends on where you live.
