I purchased 2 large recycling toters from home depot totaling me $65 - I have used them for 2 years now. They came out with a new truck that won't accept my use of those recycling toters or any additional boxes/bins outside of their 1 yellow recycling container. Bi-weekly isn't enough for my family and business and they refused to give me an additional bin at no charge even after using those other toters for years with no problem. When asked for a credit on my account to offset the cost of delivery on the additional recycling toter I was literally laughed at. I'm in a situation now where I have to throw away my additional recycling. Very green of you Waste Management. The reason they are receiving 2 stars is because they actually do pick up trash and recycling on time, unlike the other options in Rochester. Why can't we have a good quality recycling company in Rochester?

First experience with WM and it has not been nice. Made the decision (poor) to opt out of my towns contract and pay directly for the service and bins. Was told my first pickup would be Wednesday 9/21. Fine. My shift ends at 1 am, so I go down put the can out thinking all is good in the world. Low and behold the truck drives right past our house, grabbing all other WM pickups. No biggie, I think. First time blues. Contact via chat and am reassured there is a truck in the area and my pickup will still happen. Cool. Couple hours go by and I see a second WM truck coming down the road. It slows down then just drives off yet again. Of course at this time it's past 4:30 so the number and chat are closed. I contact again this morning and am met with the rudest rep I have ever spoken with. After explaining the situation she tells me the driver noted there were no cans out. So I am definitely wary of continuing this new service based off this first experience and knowing that the drivers can just decide who's stuff to pickup and write it off as a "no cans outside".

Today was the third time that our plastic garbage can was totally abused and dented, this time on both sides of the container and CRACKED!!! Why is this happening when we never had an issue with any containers until the past few months? It looks like they jumped on it or stomped on it. Inexcusable and very unprofessional. Of course, customer service is not available by the time I get home from work. I feel they should pay for a replacement garbage can. Just crazy. I wish I had a camera to videotape what they are doing. I took pictures of it, so anyone from Waste Management that wants to see proof of the abuse, feel free to contact me. Margie

They started out at 53 dollars for 3 months and then went to 73 and then 113 dollars for 3 months and it started out at 18 bags of Garbage and then went down to 5 bags and all the time the price went threw the roof ..this company did a classic bait and switch.. Beware of waste management it was a horrible company..

If you want them recycled, wrap in paper and tape and place in recycling bin. If no concern place in garbage toter.
Some trucks do both the recycling and trash. There's a divider that allows him to put it in separate areas. Hope that helps.
Mine was picked up. Normal pick up is around 8 but they were here around 9. Understandable considering the snow.
