If I could give zero stars I would. MULTIPLE occasions where they just don’t show up to get the garbage. This past Friday they didn’t show..again. Automated message said they would get it Saturday. Saturday morning I get another message “we will pick up your trash on Oct 3rd”…..it was the 8th. Didn’t pick it up today either. Called and they had no clue what I was talking about. Said it should have been picked up Friday. No Sh$&. “I’m sorry but we won’t be able to get it until this coming Friday”. WHAT!?! That trash has been there since 3 days ago and it’s overflowing and you want me to wait another week!? Not to mention, their guys continually launch my tote from across the street and it’s always in the ditch upside down in front of my house. BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS MESS OF A COMPANY.

been with the company since they bought out our previous waste company. it has been a joke. price doubled the first year. this year I renewed, money came out of my account 9-6. Today 10/8 they came and took our cans... No email or call.

Beyond terrible management. Transferred a pre-existing account to my name in July, an account that had been active for years with no issues. Everything was great.... for one week. First pickup occurred exactly as it was supposed to. The following week, no garbage pickup. I called customer service and, being accommodating and understanding, I was fine with waiting until next week for my pickup with a credit applied for the week with no pickup. Next week, same thing. I arrived home on the proper day to find my can still full. Another call, more apologies, and a promise to send a truck out the next day, which did actually occur. The following week, guess what? No pickup. Yet another call to customer service. Another credit applied for service not provided. One more week, and there was no pickup either. At this point there seemed to be no reason to believe any promises of improvement, so I called up to cancel. I thought it only proper that I receive a full refund of my quarterly payment less one week, as that one week was the only time satisfactory service had occurred. CS said they would have to speak to a manager and would get back to me, which did not happen. A refund was finally applied, but only for the quarter minus five weeks—not even the credits promised over the phone previously. Despite the stunning level of incompetence in scheduled pickups, a truck was there to take the can away a day after I cancelled service. There is objectively no reason anyone should trust this company's ability to follow through on anything, be it on the phone, through a mailer, or even through comments on these reviews. I have gone with a locally-owned company who have exceeded my expectations so far. My one hope is that Casella does not devour them as well like they have so many others. edit: Casella has in fact devoured the locally-owned company I chose.

Bought the company I used to use, and reduced the recycling services in half but not the price. Update: That frustrated the heck out of me at the time but I'm updating my review since I've moved.. to 5 stars! These guys would literally pickup anything I threw out front. I've thrown furniture, fish tanks and anything else you can think of and they never complained. If I was still there I'd leave them a 12 pack but I'm not so they get this review. Trimmer rd guys in spencerport are awesome!

No. Casella told me they charge for trash collection and the recycling pick up was a courtesy
Please call 800-CASELLA to schedule a pickup if you have large materials that do not fit inside your curbside container.
Items made of plastic, which include laundry baskets, 5-gallon pails, plastic chairs and general household items.
No. Plastic bags or films of any kind are not accepted in Zero-Sort recycling. To recycle grocery bags, please bring them to a participating grocery or retail store near you.
No. Do not place your Zero-Sort recycling into bags. It is preferable that your recyclables be placed directly into your Zero-Sort recycling container.
Zero-Sort recycling is Casella's state-of-the-art process, which enables all recyclables - paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal cans to be collected in one container eliminating the need for you to separate recyclables.
Recyclables should be rinsed clean of any food waste. Corrugated cardboard boxes should be broken down into 18" x 18" max pieces. Lids and caps can remain on empty plastic bottles. DO NOT tie newspaper or cardboard with twine.
Yes. Items that can't be recycled should be tossed into your trash container. Your Zero-Sort recycling container is for recyclables only - paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal cans. Please do not place any trash items in your Zero-Sort recycling container as this can cause contamination.
Our billing is monthly so if you have any service during the month you will be billed for the entire month.
Please store all hazardous waste, including batteries, in a safe place in your home until there is a rescheduled household hazardous waste day in your community. It is very important that household hazardous waste NOT be disposed of as regular waste in your bin.
Great question! On many of our routes, Casella operates what are known as split-body trucks. With a split-body truck, the trash and Zero-Sort recycling are dumped into the same opening on the truck but are separated by different compartments. These modernized vehicles keep the trash and recycling separate and facilitate the collection of both materials on the same trip.
Unfortunately, there is no set time. Please place containers at the curb the night before your scheduled pickup day.
We will still be collecting your waste and your recycling separately at this time, and there is no anticipated change in your level of service.
No. Trash containers are intended for municipal solid waste (household trash) only. For disposing of construction debris please call 800-CASELLA to discuss renting a dumpster.
The guidance we have received from OSHA is that regular waste generated in a household where someone has been diagnosed with the coronavirus is to be handled as we manage all waste, following normal safety precautions and wearing personal protective equipment that all of our drivers and helpers have on daily. There will not be a change in your service, and we wish you well.
Please bag all of your waste materials and put the bags in your container. We request that you not bag your recyclables, as it creates issues for our recycling center sorting lines.
Please store all hazardous waste, including batteries, in a safe place in your home until there you feel safe going to the transfer station. It is very important that household hazardous waste NOT be disposed of as regular waste in your bin.
At this time, there are no anticipated service changes to your normal collection schedule. We will alert you via a phone call or message if there will be changes in the future.
