You re unlikely to feel any severe pain, though. Your initial discomfort with your aligners will likely pass as you get used to wearing them. In the meantime, you can use over-the-counter pain medication to manage it.
When you first start wearing your Invisalign aligners, it’s not uncommon to develop a slight lisp. This should go away within a week as your mouth adjusts to the aligners, allowing you to speak clearly. If your lisp continues past the first week, your aligners likely aren’t fitted correctly and you should contact us right away.
Invisalign uses clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth into the desired position. You’ll receive a new set of aligners roughly every two weeks, with each set designed to act on certain teeth. Overall, the process works up to two times faster than metal braces.
In order to begin Invisalign treatment, your teen must have all their permanent teeth, with the exception of wisdom teeth. This means your child will likely be around 14 years old when they’re eligible for Invisalign Teen.
