The Lyric is a phenomenal Opera company in the heart of downtown Chicago. I've never seen a bad performance there.
Kathy Cook
Fiddler on the Roof is a spectacular show!
Felipe Valadez
It's the Opera!!!!
Elizabeth Ocon
Saw an amazing show there - and had a great seat. Worth it to splurge on the main floor.

One hour before the curtain rises a free, 30-minute preview talk of the performance.
Call the ticket office. If you bought it from the Opera House they may have the record. If you bought it from a reseller, maybe talk to them. But that may be not as easily replaceable. Good luck.👍
Can't recall actual run time, but easily made Metra after matinee on Sunday.
Lyric itself has the Pederson room that you need reservations for. Plus you need to know that some restaurants have different time depending on whether it's weekend or weekday. Your Best bet is to go to restaurant row near Halstead and Randolph.
I did not go. Call the opera office. The web site says 2.25 hrs
It seats 3,563 people according to Google, making it the 2nd largest opera auditorium in North America.
Best bet is to call the office
Please contact Director; front of house services.
No you would need to go in and speak with one of the House managers
Seats are tied into the subscription packages, unfortunately. So if you change your subscription,, you'll lose it.

Yes they should have informed you...
CSO sent out an email; nothing cancelled yet; monitoring situation.
Almost 3 hrs with intermission
Beatnicks on the river is close by and has some pretty good food, although a small walk away, and they are a bar style restaurant with seating outside
If it's late traviata, that is a 3 hour Opera
I don't know. You will have to ask them where he's at so they might know
There's no dress code; I don't think they'd turn away anyone with a ticket based on what they're wearing. You don't see jeans much. Most people wear nice clothes, but you'll also see very dressy clothes. It really runs the gamut, pretty much like any other theater.
There is valet parking.
Make sure your email address is correct. Call some one else in tickets
I subscribe to a series. My tickets are pretty much midrange costing about $85 each. The higher in the theater the cheaper the ticket. Also the further back, the cheaper. Popularity of the show counts less when you subscribe. But does affect the price of single purchase tickets. I have seen the Lyric offer tickets at drastically reduced prices. Go on their website, sign up for alerts to see what's being promoted. My subscription seats are better than some main floor seats. Anyway, go ahead and buy what you' re comfortable with. The Lyric will welcome you. And if you're a student you can get super seats at huge discounts.

Exit Ogilvie by the front doors on Madison St. and turn left. Walk over the river - about one short block - and the building on your left is the Civic Opera House. Walk down to the corner, make a left, and you're in front of the entrance. Maybe 4 minutes for the entire trip.
The length of the performance depends on what is being performed.Usually, between 2 and 5 hours. Wagner's Ring Cycle takes 15 hours.
It's 2 blocks from the Washington and Wells stop (brown, orange, people, pink lines).
Thanks for replies, it was specifically the production of Carousel with Audra McDonald & Hugh Jackman I would like to obtain on DVD
