Lake Shore Resort

They have a very clean outdoor pool, a sandy beach with a wonderful deck that has tables and chairs as well as sun lounge chairs. The sandy beach is to the side of the deck because the lake water is high right by the deck. There are bikes available as an amenity. You only need to let someone in the office know your name and how many you will use. There is a forest behind the resort where you can take a walk. They kayaks are an amenity too. We stayed there last summer and can't wait to return this summer. Be sure to eat at Marro's Italian Restaurant in Saugatuck. Pizzas are great and the pasta dishes are excellent. Nearby, you can take a dune buggy ride. We all enjoyed the ride. Make a reservation or you're likely to have to wait. Our granddaughters are 13 and 17. They had a wonderful time and talk about the experience even now. Oh, one other fun place to go is Dairy Dayz on Blue Star Highway, if you like soft serve ice cream. The cones are tremendous.

Hi Steve, We understand this is an unfortunate situation. Although I must point out that our website Homepage, Rates & Reservation Page, and Check Availability Page all clearly and prominently disclose our children policy. You booked your reservation on Expedia, our Expedia profile page states, "Children 12 and younger are not allowed at this property. All guests older than 12 are welcome," in two places. Additionally, when booking on Expedia they ask how many Adults and how many Children. When any number of Children is selected the guest is then asked for the age of the Children and if the age is less than 13 the guest is not able to continue booking the room. The same process is used when booking directly on our website. You, however, made a reservation for two adults and did not disclose you are traveling with a child. This is an unfortunate situation for both of us, as we have been holding a room and have turned away other customers. We in no way intended to mislead you.

They can't handle children under 13, there's no way they can accommodate a wedding party.

There are three golf course nearby Clearbrook, Ravines, and Hawkshead. All are within 5-15 minutes.
