I had a very tense conversation with a rep from social security and became so negative that I began to question the man I was speaking with if he was having a bad day. He showed no professionalism to help me answer basic questions I needed help with in a packet of paperwork I received about a decline in my monthly payments. He needs further training in empathy and patience

can't get anyone to answer the phone, i get bounced around to other county's offices after spending half my day on hold. i've gone 2 months without a social security card because no one ever took my PERSONAL DOCUMENTS out of the dropbox. my birth certificate, court ordered name change, etc, my IDENTITY. they wouldn't even let me inside to give it to anyone, i had to drop it in an accessible box in front of dozens of strangers. i'll bet cash that my documents got stolen already and that's why no one's bothered to process them, but how can i find out if no one will answer the phone??? update 8/2: someone mailed my documents back to me with a letter stating my documents don't show age, identity or u.s. citizenship. my florida birth certificate doesn't show my age, identity or citizenship?? my birth certificate that lists date, time, name change, county, my PARENT'S names...doesn't show who i am or that i'm even a citizen. and again been on hold 45 mins and no one is answering. got bounced to a whole different county's office twice and they can't help me. this is a joke.

Overall the worst SSA office I've ever had to visit. The wait times are unreasonable and they require everyone to stand outside in the sun (in FL in July!) for over 70 minutes before allowed in the lobby to get a ticket and sit down. This was even worse for the elderly and disabled who were waiting in line on canes. The bright light was the employee who helped me - she was fantastic and polite and so kind, especially after my long wait in the sun. She took less than 5 minutes to process my request and her professionalism and kindness is the only reason I added a star.

Your always going to have to Report any earnings you have while on S.S.
At what age does someone on disability become eligible for regular retirement.?
Sorry no idea
Yes
You can do it online then print it out and mail it in or go to the office and get it and mail it in
U can do it online
I need this information also
Go to the office and report it damaged, fill a form out & you will get a replacement in the mail in about seven business days.
Most likely he has I am a veteran and am applying for my bennifets at this moment just go in or make an appointment on the phone
You can contact them
No need but you can make appointments too if you want.
Can I change my direct deposit information
yes you can
Do I need to come in and set up my ss.
The s.s.office was closed but they did have a number on the door. After being on hold for fifteen minutes, I talked to a human and they answered my questions.
Go to this with site to see instructions and get the form, if she qualifies. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/taxpayer-identification-numbers-tin
Log into My Social Security at ssa.gov and you can change your address there.

I Do not worth at the SSA ...
Call the local office number or the 800 number. But to be honest everytime I have tried to make an appt they denied me and said to just "walk in"... I hope you have better luck!
You can call the social security office and ask. There is information on the SS website also. But I can say you have to be at least 50 and not married again.
Never Give out your information over the phone. They would have you go to the office for that
When I turned 50, I would have been able to claim my deceased ex spouse's benefits. But I am remarried. I am also on disability.
I found out that if they do that in the state of Fl most likely it will be thru the insurance
NO it's a scam! Report it

Tracey, I'm sorry I don't know I even tried thier Web page. Just so you know, I/we don't work for the Social Security Office. We are Google local guide's that answer questions about businesses that we are familiar with. Perhaps another Google guide will know this answer? Good luck.
Denise, this is a question and answer provided by Google and we are Google local guide's that answer questions about businesses that we are familiar with. So, I suggest you call them directly to see how your able to find out the answer to that question, good luck!
Tammy, if your on Disability your eligible for Medicare AND OR Medicaid. They will cover most of your doctor visits with you paying a small co-pay as well as with your Rx's. Call tomm and ask how to get this help, good luck!:
I'm not sure how that works? Your better off giving them a call to see what you have to do or go in person.
You may be able to get it mailed but your fastest way would be to go in to the office. But to save time make an appt. first.
Robert, your going to have to call them directly because we are just Google local guide's that answer questions about businesses that were familiar with, we do not work for the SS office.
Yes I believe so in addition to any bills, rent/Mortgage papers that have your name and address on them.
Ann, I'm not sure who you need to speak to in order to do that. I would suggest that you give them a call to find out. See I'm just a Google local guide that helps answer these questions about businesses that were familiar with, I'm/we're not associated with SS Administration.
Hi Ann, I don't know the answer to your question, sorry. And just so your aware people (like me) try to answer questions about businesses that we're familiar with, we don't work for the SS office.
I'm not sure? Your best bet is to call and check. But if your getting Food Stamps then yes you do.
You can only get a copy if you actually submitted a paper copy when you filed your taxes, you might have to ask for it in writing. I would go to the office and see if they can print a copy for you in the same day.
I need that information also
Sorry but we don't work for SS, we are local guides on Google. I recommend that you either call or visit your local SS office.
I don't think you can get one within one day? You have to call or visit your local S.S office to see how.
As a Google local guide I'm sorry I don't know that information. May I suggest that you call your local S.S. office or go in person.
Social Security Administration (local office) is open Monday -Friday (9a - 4p) - I believe.
