Shelbyville has Always and still is my all time favorite place to camp. I have been camping there since I was 18. My Dad actually hauled dirt outta there when they were building the dam.. Outta ALL the 40 + years I've been going there I have Never had A problem until this Labor Day weekend when someone decided they needed my grandsons fold up wagon more than He did . I just want the people who took it to know you broke his heart . ❤️ And I Pray that bothers you . This won't discourage me from camping there . The Gatehouse Attendants are Always Great as well as the Rangers and Volunteers and Everyone who makes the park run . Thank you All for your time and effort !

Wow! I didn't realize how pretty this place was. Can't wait to go back. The first 10 spots are wide, gravel, and level. We really enjoyed our weekend here.

Like most COEs this is a really nice campground. We were in site 51 which is a FHU site. The site is small pea gravel, level and wide. The bathrooms are directly across but are very uninviting, and I did not use them. I would not follow your GPS. It takes you on route 5, which is a small, bad road. Take 128 instead to county rd 1650 (not 1600) and follow the signs. That road is not very good either, but it is only a 1/2 mile. We camped at Opossum Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Call the Corp office in shelbyville
They don't have anything to do with it. You can camp without a license. Just don't fish without it.
