Located on a bluff above the lake. Whether stopping at the building itself, or the adjacent picnic grounds, this has to be my absolutely favorite place to view the lake. Amongst the many functions/services offered here, it is where I acquired my America The Beautiful Access Pass.

Questions & Answers

How do I find the lake level at Iake shelbyville?

Pudgey The Bear | Apr 12, 2022

There's a boat ramp down the road from the beach, you'll be able to get at lake level there or on the parking spots off the dam. There are also hunter and fishermen parking lots, though you'd likely have to check their location in the visitor's center.

Can you bring golf carts to the camp grounds and ride them around?

Sarah Haslett | Oct 10, 2018

Unfortunately, golf carts are not permitted on USACE property. Only state licensed vehicles. For example, a scooter, motorcycle or automobile licensed by a state would be authorized. However local licensing by villages and towns are not recognized or acceptable for use on federal lands.
