This nature walk was perfect. This time of year look out for spider webs! Ahhhhh! Aside from the spiders, it was so cool and peaceful.

Super underrated park! My favorite landmark is Old Gus, if you can find him :)

Great place to walk! Fun nature feel to it, great trails to walk - really neat to see all the old fields/trees and Town Creek running along it. A really beautiful place to escape to tucked away in the woods!

It's like a little hidden gem that people have forgotten about. There are some picnic tables located randomly throughout the trails. It has an odd mix of being abandoned but also kind-of being upkept by someone. The trails are a little confusing to navigate but the beauty and overall peacefulness of the place is very nice and relaxing. We spent all day on the trails on accident there are so many trails and so much to explore. There are plaques posted throughout the trails that highlight some of the nature and educate a little.

Are there marked trails there?

Barry Lape | Sep 24, 2018
Jennifer Bias | Sep 24, 2018

Yes, they're marked and cleaned. There's also a lot of sub-trails that are fun to explore, too. Take the "NO DOGS" trail until you get to a clearing. There you will find a map of Ev-Henwood with all of the trail names and length.

Can you hike with your dogs here, or are they all "no dog" trails?

No dogs or horses at this park

We pulled into the grass area off Rock Creek Rd at the Ev Henwood sign but did not see any trail markers or trails. Is there another entrance to the nature preserve?

Barry Lape | Sep 24, 2018
Jennifer Bias | Sep 24, 2018

Only entrance. Park in a spot that's around the "cul-de-sac", if you can call it that, and take the trail behind the fence gate marked "NO DOGS". From there you'll see other trail signs and markers

Are the two abandoned houses involved with the nature trail?

According to the map, yes.
