Lovely grounds...resort living. Nicely maintained golf course now under private ownership. Been here a year. Many more units are going up and I expect that shortly the amenities will be overcrowded. You will be living in a construction zone for some years...make no mistake about that...but its like that in almost any growing retirement area. Most people are great...management is very competent. However, houses are too close together. My suggestion is to find the largest piece of property you can afford and build as far away from closest houses as regulations allow. There are lots of rules and regulations, creativity is frowned upon and non-conformists/creative types will be happier elsewhere. Otherwise, it is a very nice place. We have met and socialized with many ex NY/NJ/VA/DC people with whom we have interests in common. There are many opportunities to volunteer with local Brunswick County and Wilmington charitable organizations as well. UPDATE - June 2022 -Management/developer change....many new sections going up....NO new amenities to speak of. If you move here please buy your own pool.....we are packed like sardines in the summer. The restaurant has closed and there is no place in CP to eat now if you are not a member of the golf club. A new development unassociated with CP going up on the two lane entrance to the west gate to Compass Pointe (one of the only two egresses to/from 74) that will include a senior living center (already open), two apartments buildings and their private clubhouse/pool structure, and 64 townhouses all scrunched onto the two lane road that provides one of the two entrances to Compass Pointe. The construction alone will tie up all traffic in and out of Compass Pointe at the West Gate. Additionally, just down the road a new development of about 1,700 new homes (some in flood zones) will cause an additional increase in traffic both construction and residential....as you may have read somewhere, Brunswick County and Leland in particular are some of the fastest growing places in NC. The roads and infrastructure at current cannot keep pace.....74 and 17 South are not getting any wider and every month it seems that a new development if being proposed and rubber stamped on 74 or 17. My suggestion would be to look at some of the lesser developed counties in NC and SC.

What, if anything, does the HOA plan to do about residents and contractors travelling at dangerously high speeds on the narrow main roads? And don't refer me to the Rules and Regulations. They are not enforced. Speeding is a huge issue

Any age. They market themseves as as an active adult community. There will be a 2nd pool and membership club with privileges now being built. You will see children visiting their parents & grandparents. I have sold to people who are working, waiting for retirement & retirees.
