The Friends of the Merced Library operates a used bookstore within the library. They have an entire room, several hundred books in all subjects. I have been donating read 📚 and finding new treasures. The library itself is dated but the staff is very helpful and there's free internet. They also stay open later until 6 weekdays and all day Saturday.

The staff doesn't always check items in when returned and marks them over due with a fine when in fact are not esp. on Saturdays. Volunteer's are under-trained.

You can borrow books from the library with an account. You can buy books from the friends of the library store located within the library.
Until at least June 30, the Merced branch is open Tuesdays & Wednesdays till 8:00 PM. Please go to to this Library & check out materials so we can continue/increase evening hours past June 30.
