Prior to being contacted for the position, a different Robert Half recruiter had been in the process of matching me with an accounting position closer to my home. (Emphasis on “accounting position closer to home”) I went two weeks without hearing from him. Until one day my mother randomly informs me that someone from Robert half was trying to contact me for a different position. It turns out that a different branch picked up my old profile from when I was living at home. In the initial phone screening, I was asked why I was leaving my current job and what I was looking for in my next opportunity. I explicitly expressed that I preferred to be closer to home (which is in greater the New Haven area) and to be placed in an assignment that would further my accounting experience. Throughout the entire process from the offer to the start date, the hiring team lacked communication. Days would pass before I would get a little dose of information; leaving me sick wondering what was next, or if I even had secured a new position. When I finally did receive a call I was being swindled into taking a position that was supposedly hybrid. When I reported to the site I tried figuring out the ways I could transition the tasks to be able to WFH, but there was literally no logical way. The direct supervisor openly expressed how he disliked telecommute jobs and that when I realized I was being bamboozled! So not only was I assigned to somewhere far, it wasn’t even hybrid, or that heavily accounting based. The site even tilted the position as ‘Administrative Assistant’ of sorts for confidential purposes. Robert Half certainly values the client relationships more than the employees that serve them. I would not recommend anyone from a temp to a recruiter to work for them. UPDATE 8/22/2022: This business is a poor excuse for an international company. HR and customer service alike ignored my complaint. The response below is FALSE, as I never heard back after my initial call. I’m very curious as to whom they spoke to regarding the conversation with customer loyalty. Another example of the swindling and manipulation conducted by this large corporation.
