Great praise and worship! Pastor Vinar laughs at his own jokes too much which you shouldn’t do if you want people to laugh, just smile a little to see if they get it. He uses analogies that he doesn’t connect very well to the sermon. Like Faith is a possession you should take with you if there was a fire in your house. Then he doesn’t stick with the theme, or circle back to the analogy to tie it in leaving his sermon to be all over the place. Talking with excitement doesn’t lead to a captivated audience. He uses a touch screen for taking points to justify his sermon segments, and doesn’t give you the verses ahead of time to follow along. So for me I can’t open my Bible or Bible app and follow along. Great for community and small focus groups. Great sized congregation working on diversity. The greeters are so sweet. No more snorting noises when you laugh please. I hope you don’t take offense and please use this as a critique.

My wife and I visited looking for a body of serious believers and strong, biblical, and convicting preaching. This was not present at Grace Church. I had heard that the sermons were watered down, but we decided to try it because I like to give other believers the benefit of the doubt. The worship was your typical modern Christian concert - I don’t think the congregation was too active in the worship singing, but rather they just kinda listened to the band. I thought to myself, “okay, the worship wasn’t great, but maybe the sermon will be better?” I was completely wrong. A pastor (I don’t know who) went on stage and did a poor stand up comedy about tar heels and Duke fans, not to introduce an amazing sermon, but to continue on for 30 minutes! My wife and I couldn’t believe it - we sat there listening to this man treat the worship place of God as some entertainment hub. Seeking the glory of God was not a priority, entertainment was. I was going to stay until the end to be polite, but my wife was so fed up with the worthlessness of the sermon that she wanted to leave, so we left during the sermon. If you think I am joking about this place as being an “entertainment hub”, I am not. I had heard before that they had watched regular secular movies from Hollywood during church, but I didn’t believe it. Just this past Thursday, I drove past a poster out front of the church saying “Experience church like you never have before.” Featuring 4 secular Hollywood movies including one of the Bourne movies. If you value your walk with God, avoid the preaching and hedonistic focus of this (not church) organization.
