Today was my first visit. What a beautiful bayside park! We went to some friend's baby shower and the picnic area was beautiful and perfect for the large group. I walked over to the restrooms by the pool and was happy to find them very clean and well stocked. I also think it's great that you pay $5 for parking and the pool is included! We will definitely go back!

Very mello beach. The pool is closed, but plenty of room under big shade trees. The beach is rocky, but the water is warm. Lots of families relaxing and having fun.

Summer is here☀️⛱️ but as you know the Bay Area has been windy almost every month in 2022. Here at McNears Beach County Park you would think different. This area has a nice view and plenty of parking / ♿handicap parking as well, not too windy either. Bring cash or credit cause you might want to buy snacks in there pool house. Almost forgot to add there are showers and bathrooms. There is a small boat launch🚣 for small porta botes , inflatable boats or🛶 kayaks. Be warned , at low tide you might get stranded on the water because the North Bay runs very shallow making the return to land half a mile mud flats. Please keep in mind when you are at any picnic area there will be🐜 ants and🐝 yellow jacket that could ruin your event. Before planning your day here📞 call the office and ask about reservations on picnic tables and locations. Don't forget to ask about bee's , ants or yellow jackets that might be active in the area . One trip during the summer here we experience yellow jackets that would not leave our table of food. 👶🍼 PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN WATCH THEM CAREFULLY WHEN YELLOW JACKETS ARE PRESENT. These yellow jackets will feed inside soda cans and some will fall into the liquid . If you or small children leave you drinks and return for a sip it could turn into a 😵⛑️⚕️🩺🚑911 nightmare. McNears is a great place to spend your summer don't get me wrong . There is a nice 🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊swimming pool and a kiddy pool as well. For those that want to fish , there is a nice 🎣🐟fishing pier there no fishing license needed . If you plan to fish you will need to know the fishing rules and regulation, just google it. Watch your step near the water front🦆🦆🦆🦆goose poop everywhere. Here are some pictures I will add incase you'd decide to come out and enjoy the view. Help others and share your experience everywhere you go on Google . I'll try my best to share with you I'm a parent of 4 kids ,always worried.❤️❤️❤️❤️ LAST I WILL ADD THE SAYING TOWARDS EVERYTHING IN LIFE. DON'T LET YOUR GUARD DOWN IN THE SITE OF BEAUTY ,THERE IS ALWAYS HIDDEN DANGER TO BE AWARE OF.

Wanna catch sharks? & sting rays? then this is the spot! Use frozen squid for bait tied on with magic string and use a 12 oz. Sinker during in coming tide. Bring sturdy strong rods with 60lb to 100lb braid size 6/0 hooks.

Ask park workers.
Go to the marin county parks website (marincountyparks.org)
No reservations needed to just visit the park
Yes, you can swim on the beach. Most of the shoreline and pier are accessable for swimmers.
Yes they have showers - but the changing rooms are "open" so come prepared. I'd lean towards changing @ car vs in the changing area.
The parking lot is $ 5 unless you are parked a few meters later and walk to the place :)
No
I don't believe you can bring a bounce house in, but that being said, contact the government building, Marin County Parks and Open Space Admin Office. I don't think that there are areas with electric outlets.
If you have a marin library card you can get in for free, just go to your local library and ask how to get a free parking pass, hope I helped you and have a good day
I can't recall the price, but you can contact Marin County Parks and Open Space for fees and reservations
All the times I've gone, I've just driven in and paid, no reservations were required. If you have a large event where you need to reserve tables, BBQ grills, you can contact Marin County Parks and Open Space Dept. 3501 Civic Center Dr. San Rafael. They should be able to make reservation's for you.
Pool is closed for the season tho, unfortunately. You'd have to call the office to see if you can use it. It's still filled since the last time I was there Thursday (9/20).
No, isn't allow.
You can reserve. But not really necessary for mon-thu. And there are plenty of non reservation grills as well
You pay to get in to the park, not to fish. Fee is per vehicle And Is $5.00 except for summer weekends when it's $10.00. You can walk in to the park, and fish, for free. When the pool is open, you need to pay another $5.00 to swim. Fishing can be really good here, pay attention to the tides and use good bait
from looking at all the other comments they seem to have BBQ Pits as needed. As a rule I don't do any cooking down there I'm at the North End of the beach flying my UAV
Not allowed.
