I was there for the "By the Sweat of Our Brows! Event! It was a beautiful occasion! I was invited by my Cousin Kelvin M. Hopkins! I am a DNA Descendant of the Bratton, Rainey, Springs and many of the related families!

A must experience, especially for history buffs and folks that really want to take in and understand the lifestyle when it was an active plantation

I went expecting a house, a few out building and maybe a barn. Wow! Was i ever surprised. Multiple houses, at least a dozen out buildings and yes a barn. 900 archers of beautiful farmland and natural woodlands plus the many on site historical buildings make is an essential visit. Go during one of their living history events for an extra special experience!

Hi Sharon, Thanks for asking! Renovations are coming along nicely. It has been a slow process due to supply chain and the pandemic but it is going well and progressing well! We look forward to reopening the house to the public!
Hi Susan, yes we are open year around with the exception of major holidays and Mondays. We look forward to having you come visit!
Hi Savannah, thanks for reaching out. We are working out the details for summer programs. Stay tuned to our social media! Hope you have a wonderful day!
It's nice to bring cold stuff there and a blanket there's pretty areas between the homes across the street from the gift shop where you can enjoy a nice picnic and the kids can run around with the chickens!
Historic Brattonsville presents the history of the Scots-Irish and African-Americans in the South Carolina upcountry largely through preserving and interpreting the story of the Bratton community. Featuring more than 30 historic structures from the 1760s to the late 19th century, the site provides visitors with an opportunity to see the evolution of Southern culture and architecture in the Carolina Piedmont. Learn how people farmed the land, cooked their food and entertained themselves in the 18th and 19th centuries at this 778-acre living history museum. Historical farming techniques and day-to-day activities are presented by costumed interpreters year-round.
Well brattonsville is not a city but a plantation. They have minimum Christmas decorations due to it being an historical site. The closest town, Rock Hill, has a great Christmas celebration. Parades, snow for the kids and many other things. Look on their website for more information.
Overrated, too dark for old people.
I believe so.
