Quiet, short, but at times steep hike, leading to a cliff area surrounded by amazing rock formations.

Simply beautiful. I was in awe of the beauty of the forrest and rock cliffs. Some challenging parts on the trail, but mostly it is very easy to navigate.

AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. HAD A BLAST. The walk was only for able bodied people. There's a bit of climbing and crossing streams so prepare to possibly get wet feet. Completely worth the walk. We turned a 1.5-2 hour walk into about 4.5 hours. Taking time and taking photos.. I want to go back again when the seasons change and see everything growing ..

Great hike. Several water falls off of this trail.A couple of steep inclines but would rate as moderate. Beautiful hike indeed.

No you have to walk, but it is a short walk
https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5287086.pdf You can camp in gray areas. Anywhere outside the box canyon.
Primitive camping is allowed, just not near the trailhead. Also watch for specific signs/stakes that prohibit camping and/or campfires in certain places--these are usually near trail or rockfaces.
No, it has many steep places that you have to climb down and up from.
We take our pug and pittie both, every time we go. If you're approaching the parking lot, the entrance to the trail, on the left, is where we start. It's easier for us, and our dogs to climb up the rocks, using them as steps. If you start the other way, you have to go down down the rocks, and I find that more difficult with the dogs.
The Park is open you're allowed to go back there and Hike they only have the public parking area closed so you have to hike back the gravel road to get to the trailhead
There is a ranger station in Tell City but not sure if that is the closest one to you. I have never seen anyone camping at that location. So best to call.
Camping not allowed since 2016😭
1. Can you camp and have a fire directly within the box canyons of Hemlock Cliffs? No 2. Can you camp and have a fire in the HNF outside of the designated Hemlock Cliffs recreational area? Yes
