Great place to go. It's beautiful to walk and see cool things..

I never knew this hidden gem was in our town. Wear good shoes or hiking boots. I do not recommend trying this if you are wearing flip flops. If you decide to go down to the wading pool, I recommend walking to the right on the trail. If you are not in shape, elderly, or have small children, be cautious! You could fall! There are no handrails. This would be a nice place to have a picnic.

Not in the aqueduct park portion but the canal and the river are near by you can fish from.
Park in the Augusta Canal Aqueduct Park Trailhead parking lot. Go across the big wooden bridge past the map kiosk and bathrooms. Turn left after the bridge and go down the concrete path. At the bottom of the hill is a 2 acre grass field. If you go straight to the end of the field and go left, you can swim in pools at the top of the falls, to the right is a steep, narrow, Rocky path leading down to the pool at the base of the falls. Alternatively, you can go around the field to the left and take the path that hugs around the falls on the left side of them. When you get around them on the left, you can cut down into the ravine w the falls or keep going to the far side of the pool at the base of the falls and go down a hill to get to the place where the overflow meets up with the pool on the far side from the falls. Explore away and keep your eyes peeled for poison ivy. It's not everywhere, but there are patches. Snakes have never been an issue for me or my dogs.
