This is the perfect family friendly trial! Although the path needs a few repairs, it does cover most of the trail and allows for exploration through fairytale marshlands. There is a ton of wild life, a fair amount of benches, swings, and even a park for the kids to play! Definitely do be aware of the ants and large bugs! Great place to bring a picnic and get out some of the kids energy

Beautiful board walk trails through nature.

This is such a beautiful park. I see photographers here regularly because the natural landscape, wildlife, and flowers are worth capturing. Thankful for this thriving habitat and all its beautiful dragonfly inhabitants. :)

You cannot fish at the swamp. However you can fish at the mayors pond right by the swamp, but you do need a GA fishing license.
We didnt have a problem with mosquitoes and we were there during the hot months.
Call the state's wildlife department. Or call the police and they can direct you to them.
Yes tons of alligators! Been 4 times and have always seen one! Beware often they are on the walking trails. If you spoke easy do not go. Also do not feed them or mess with them. They truly won't bother you if you leave them alone. Just enjoy their beauty!!
No
I was just out there this weekend working with scouts on the trails. I can't speak for all the trails, but some would be difficult to navigate in a wheelchair and maybe scooter. They can be narrow and uneven in spots. But there are car lanes in some areas where you maybe able access with permission. I would call and see. The boardwalks do have some boards missing/broken on some trails as well.
There are a few walk-in ponds for fishing per the GA DNR page on Phinizy Swamp, but I do not know where they are located. If you call them and ask, they should know. Every time I have called, the lady I spoke with had answers.
