Sams has always been a great value. But in today's economy that value isn't had its benefits as in the past. BUT.....if you need a family essentials: breads, meats, fish, produce there are deals to be had. Also on lesser items like drinks, snacks, frozen treats they have the deals. IF you don't have a membership simply walk in and look around. My guess is you walk out with a membership and you'll be saving in just a few visits.

Just signed up for a membership (the basic one) and tried to walk in the club at 9:29am. Apparently this is a big no-no (I had zero idea, not in my welcome email, the app, nothing) and the gal at the door told me she’d “see me in 30 minutes, hun, when I’m allowed in”. Pretty speechless - I guess I understand this ‘perk’ for upgrading and getting to shop earlier, but make it clear us basics aren’t allowed in until 10am if that’s the policy. I had zero clue and instead of getting explained this, I was treated very condescendingly for seeming to try to step foot in the door as a basic member before 10am. Put up some signs, make it clear in the welcome email, SOMETHING! And please train associates to treat customers with a bit of politeness. I’ll stick with Costco.

Fantastic experience! Staff was exceptional, they helped me being a new member. I got $45.00 off of first purchase over $45.00. Much better than Costco! Applied for credit card from Sam's club was told I should receive in 2 to 3 weeks. Look forward to shopping there. Thanks

Yes Sam's is like a big shopping mall,from clothes,food,cleaning,pharmacy to clothes...and yes you have to have a membership...hope I could help...
