I use to work in the rental business. The reservation just let's them know you're coming but they don't always have the car size you want. They probably try to find from another branch but sometimes other offices are also out of cars. They should call you to let you know but they they may also just hope you don't come in. 20% of people that make online reservations don't show up.

All rental cars from Enterprise are Non-Smoking. I understand the problem, because my husband and I are both smokers. If they catch you smoking in one of their Non-Smoking cars, they charge the card on file anywhere from $75 to $150. There are ways around being caught, but it takes a non-smokers spray from Wal-Mart, and you have to wash the inside of all the windown, and vacuum up the ashes and use dash cleaner to wipe the yellow smoke stains up. It's a pain, but if you smoke in a Non-Smoking car, it takes a lot to make it clean so they don't find out. Depends on how long you have the car. If it's over a week, then you'll have time to clean out the car. Just saying 😉

Depends on days of week what type of vehicle and how many days you have the vehicle. I have found the further you plan out sometimes the better deal (Not always).
