Great place. Nice ponds. Great camp sites. Close to the highway. Not in the mountains. Can get warm. But awesome location to see Boulder, Fort Collins, and Denver. Rangers nice. (The proximity to the highway is the only reason I might go 4/5 stars. But consider, that may be the reason to stay here - if you want to get out on the way elsewhere).

Great state park (expect to pay a daily entrance fee if you don’t have a park pass) with plenty of lakes to fish for warm water species year round and trout during the colder months. Decent place to try out ice fishing at one of the smaller stocked ponds.

We drove up from Southern Colorado to do a little ice fishing. This is the only place I've ever seen rescue rings in case someone falls through the ice. There is ample parking and vault toilets and lots of ponds to choose from. Happy fishing!

I am a dog walker, it's nice to walk around the ponds. It can get crowded at the weekends year round, but especially in spring-fall with RV camping. It is next to the interstate, but as a local, I am glad to have a park of this size - and the views!!@

No place at St. Vrain to do that. 10 hp and less on only pond with ramp.
Yes, but check out the park in lyons colorado. St Vrain is good if you are fishing, Lyons is good if you are going for quite seclusion and nature.
Yes. There are 2 dump stations (side by side) just inside the main entrance with non-potable water spigots for rinsing and potable water spigots at the end of the stations. All of it is free for St. Vrain guests.
Dogs are allowed, but must be on a (six foot) leash.
Welcome to Colorado
Yes there are multiple ponds there that you can drop a canoe in some of them are paddle only ponds and lots of fishing.
Call cpw or the 1800 number to reserve camping spots at all of colorados parks
1 pm
There is no swimming at St. Vrain state park. There is a swim beach at Union reservoir that is about a 10 minute drive west of St. Vrain state park.
Locals I talked to say it's great and has a variety of fish to catch.
Trout, Bass, Walleye, Crappie, Perch, Catfish, Carp, Pike, Bluegill...
Nk
They do, $8. https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/StVrain/Pages/Fees.aspx
Www.cpwshop.com see availability and pricing
I will be there at 1 PM I'll let you know than. The small ponds have ice on them but too thin..... the big pond is half frozen.
Regulations at campgrounds is 14 days
Not dure about trick or treat . Some campsites are decorated
If you don't have a reservation you cannot check in to the campground area until 1pm.
I've never seen anybody swim there or noticed a swim beach. Go to Jackson reservoir, they have a great swim beach.
I believe 2 weeks is the maximum, you can park an RV, within a 45 day span.
Yes. Tho be aware of your neighbors. The 10pm time for quiet is real. Also electric is available, if your convertor is working.
Depends on if you have a state parks pass or not. If you go on the website to book your stay it'll Gove you a price. $24—$28 I believe
Longmont is 4,984 and St Vrain is a little lower than that, say 4,800 to 4,900 feet
About 2 inches earlier today. The rangers posted a video measuring the ice.
It can be iced over, most of the ponds have lifebuoies out for use if needed.
