Trails a bit overgrown currently in August. Some very pretty settings with enormous trees. Perhaps 100-200 years old. Worth an afternoon.
Frog Chops
I don't get what people see in this place. It is just woods. With nothing to look at and billions of bugs flying in your ears, nose, eyes and mouth. Walked about two miles in and turned around. So many beautiful hiking trails in the area I don't know why anyone would choose this place. Also, BE AWARE: DO NOT follow the Google directions. It will take you to a dead end. Be sure to look up "Goosepond Mountain Parking" -- someone needs to fix this. Also: no trail markers and no cell signal, so be careful. Overall, a very poorly maintained nothingburger.

Yes, dogs on leash allowed. No camping, just hiking and biking.
I don't believe so. It's a state owned park and there are a lot of sections where houses are close by.
Bears, coyotes and red fox yes. Perhaps a Bobcat, but no Mt lion nor wolves this far South in NY
Yes
It is free; a great way to contribute is to bring a garbage bag, & fill it during your hike.
