I think the best will be if you call up the park manegmant at +1 845-358-1316
You can bring your own to be on safe side. There is grills but limited. Depending on time of day an what day of the week. It will be taken.
yes, but get there early on the weekends . Only 2 handicapped spits
Yes. But don't expect anything beach like or white sand
Bike path is open
Next to the road next to the river there are several tables and a place for barbecue
Depends on the traffic. Without traffic it's 20-25 min
Hi Margaret, hours are dusk til dawn. Yes, it's a dog friendly park. There are hiking trails that wind up through the mountain and there's also a flat, gravel trail that goes along the river - cyclists also use the flat gravel trail. The flat, gravel trail goes on for miles, I've never made it to the end
Thanks. I've been to upper lot before. Too far for kids...
Usually closes around dusk...3pm it will be open. are you aware that the lower parking lot is closed and that you have to walk down from the upper plateau?
Yes . Its called Nyack beach on the nyack side and the hook mountain trail starts ( or ends) there. If you take the path all the way to the end you end up in Dutch town at Haverstraw .
Absolutely! Park rules indicate dogs are allow but you must keep them on a restraining device. (Except for swimming of course!).
License required to fish
If you walk all the way to the end of the trail there is a little area that you can sit or dip your feet in. It is not really a beach but it will do.
About 2 miles one way i guess. Have seen a mile marker about halfway.
There is a parking lot that is one level above the river where you can can reach the edge of the river and the bike trail.
